Presidential And Parliamentary Elections In Turkey
Over 56 million voters yesterday (24 June 2018) cast their ballots in simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections and as %97.7 of ballots counted, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the leader of the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), has received 26.068.146 votes (% 52.55) and has been reelected as the President of the Republic of Turkey.
Muharrem Ince, from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has received 15.216.199 votes (%30.67). He was followed by Selahattin Demirtaş, Democratic People's Party (HDP) with 4.147.137 votes (%8.1) and Meral Akşener, IYI (Good) Party, 3.636.779 votes (%7.33), Temel Karamollaoğlu, Felicity Party, 441.401 votes (%0.89) and Doğu Perinçek, Homeland Party 98.0250 votes (%0.20).
AK Party, CHP, MHP, HDP and IYI Party surpassed the 10 percent threshold in the parliamentary election.
PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE (AK Party – MHP) received 26,626,445 votes (%53.6) and gained 343 out of 600 seats in the Parliament.
NATION ALLIANCE (CHP – IYI Party) received 16,900,181 votes (%34) and gained 190 out of 600 seats in the Parliament.
